Model: Mini Mini R53, R50, R52 - Years 2001-2007
Part: Thermostat

Here are the useful instructions for removing and replacing the thermostat on the Mini Cooper 1.6. First, open the vehicle's engine bonnet and begin by removing the battery, disconnecting both terminals (positive and negative); then remove the battery tray as shown in the video. At this point, disconnect the coolant hose and the thermostat, draining the fluid into a container; then unscrew the thermostat screws to remove it and replace it with the new one, finally topping up with new coolant!
