To replace the engine oil and filter in a Mini Cooper, start the engine for a few minutes to warm the oil slightly, making it easier to drain. Then, turn off the vehicle and secure it by raising it. Place a container under the oil sump and open the drain plug to completely empty the system. After draining all the used oil, remove the oil filter with the appropriate tool and prepare the new component by applying a thin layer of oil on the gasket. Install the new filter, close the sump plug, and pour the new oil into the engine from the top in the recommended quantity. Once finished, start the engine to check for leaks and check the oil level, topping up if necessary.
