Installing a Cold Air Intake in the Engine

Model: Mini Mini R50, R52, R53 - Years 2001-2007

This tutorial shows how to install a cold air intake in the engine bay of a Mini Cooper R53. In the first part of the video, remove the original equipment. First, lift the air box shield and unscrew the screws securing the air pipe. Once the air box is removed, extract the filter. Lift and remove the two covers on the intake pipe and free the connections. Remove the inlet and take out the rest of the air box from the engine bay. In the second phase of the video, prepare the new air intake box. Secure it carefully to a wall of the box using locking screws and support brackets. In the third phase of the video, insert the assembly into the engine bay in place of the old one, secure it with screws, and connect it to the intake pipe. Once the clips are tightened, restore the connections and reposition the covers. After fitting the new filter, cover the box with a protective plexiglass sheet.
