Replacing Front Shock Absorbers

Model: Mitsubishi Outlander MK 2 - Years 2007-2012

To replace the front shock absorbers, first obtain the appropriate clamps to compress the springs; then lift the vehicle on a lift and remove the front wheel, free the shock absorber from the cable passes, and unscrew the relevant mounting bolts to the hub support; lower the vehicle to access the engine bay and unscrew the nuts securing the shock absorber support to the body strut to extract it; apply the clamps to the spring and compress it enough to remove the support from the shaft and slide off the gaiter; then fit the gaiter, spring, and support onto the new shock absorber and proceed in reverse for installation on the vehicle.
