It can happen, especially in cars with a significant size, such as in the case of SUVs, that the ball heads placed at the ends of the steering box tie rods can give way, playing fun and becoming noisy; to be able to carry out the replacement, lift the car on the bridge and remove the front wheel; then unscrew the nut fixing the head to the hub support and, even before using the fork extractor to extract it, loosen the fixing nut on the tie rod; then extract the head and unscrew it by counting the number of turns; screw the new head with the same number of turns, insert it in its seat, tighten the lock nut and the fixing nut; it is advisable to have the convergence checked on the bench.
