How to Replace Rear Brake Pads and Discs on a Nissan X-Trail

For replacing the rear discs and pads, it is advisable to lift the vehicle on a hydraulic lift and remove the rear wheel. At this point, remove the lower pin of the brake caliper to lift it and extract the old pads. Then, detach the complete caliper bracket and remove the rubber cap on the disc, near the retaining pins, and slightly loosen the handbrake adjuster to remove the old disc. Clean and apply grease to the centre of the hub before installing the new disc, resetting the adjuster to zero and fitting the rubber. Now reattach the caliper bracket, retract the piston using the appropriate tool, and install the new pads, completing the caliper fastening and reassembling the wheel.
