This is a design flaw on the Nissan Primastar: rainwater seeps into the cabin and tends to collect around the internal support handle (the one we use to close the door). The signal is a constant dripping when it rains, wet carpets, mold, and bad odors in the cabin. The problem is not the handle itself, but the inadequate design of the roof seal, which is not continuous or does not adhere along its entire path, especially in the top corner. The roofs of this van have channels for water drainage, but if they get clogged, water finds the easiest way to flow, which is inside the roof, and then follows the path of least resistance, flowing along the internal structure and coming out at the lowest point: the handle. The solution in the video is not a solution; the solution is to keep the drainage channels clean, and also to seal the seals with a good automotive sealant. If the seal is very damaged, it may be a good idea to replace it with a new one.
