How to replace the cabin air filter in the Nissan Maxima.
Model: Nissan Maxima
A36, MK 8

The procedure described refers to the 2023 model, but the position of the filter has been the same since 2015 on this vehicle. The filter is located on the front passenger side, near the center tunnel, directly in front of the passenger's feet. We will see a rectangular plastic cover. The cover is secured with hooks; we push up the hook on the bottom of the cover to unlock it, then slide the cover down until it completely comes out of its seat. Removing the old filter is not very easy, as the space is quite tight, so we will need to use a plastic tool to help pull it out. Once the edge is visible and accessible, we pull it towards us, then clean the compartment thoroughly of any dirt and debris that fell during removal. We insert the new filter, being careful about the direction of the airflow: the arrow must point towards the inside of the car, pushing the filter firmly to the bottom, but without deforming it. We reattach the cover by hooking the top part, then push the bottom part of the cover upwards until we hear a "click" confirming that it is secured.
