How to Clean the Lambda Sensor on a Nissan Qashqai with K9K Engine

Let's see how to clean the Lambda sensor on the Nissan Qashqai J11 with the K9K engine. This component is often underestimated as it does not show obvious errors but can lead to higher fuel consumption, poor engine responsiveness, and irregular running. On this model, access is quite easy. Disconnect the main connector and two smaller connectors along the wire's path. Then, unscrew the sensor using a 22mm socket (this allows the wire to pass through the gap). Inspect the sensor, which is usually blackened with soot, and spray WD-40 on the entire sensor body and the holes. Allow it to sit for a few minutes and clean the residue with absorbent paper. Then, spray more WD-40 for contacts (which evaporates without leaving residue) to remove any remaining debris and protect it. Re-screw the sensor without overtightening and reconnect all the connectors.
