How to Reset the Airbag Warning Light

If there is a fault in the airbag system, the airbag warning light remains illuminated for seven seconds when the ignition is turned on, then it turns off and starts to flash: there is a manual reset method that involves a precise sequence of turning the ignition on and off. 1) Turn on the ignition without starting the engine: the AIR BAG light stays on for 7 seconds and then turns off, then turn off the ignition within 1 second before the light starts to flash. 2) Wait 4 seconds, turn on the ignition without starting the engine: the AIR BAG light stays on for 7 seconds and then turns off, then turn off the ignition within 1 second before the light starts to flash. 3) Wait 4 seconds, turn on the ignition without starting the engine: the AIR BAG light stays on for 7 seconds and then turns off, then turn off the ignition within 1 second before the light starts to flash. 4) Wait 4 seconds, turn on the ignition without starting the engine: the AIR BAG light stays on for 7 seconds and then turns off, then turn off the ignition within 1 second before the light starts to flash. 5) Wait 3 seconds, turn on the ignition, turn it off within 2 seconds and then turn it back on: during this last phase, the light stays on before turning off permanently.
