How do you replace the battery in a Micra key? To replace the key battery, you do not need to open the key itself. Here’s how to do it. Press the release button to separate the two parts of the key. Once separated, use a small screwdriver to lever between the two covers of the key: continue until the covers separate, then extract the worn battery with a small screwdriver. Insert a new battery into the key: press on the key case until you hear it click into place. Reassemble the two parts of the key and check the operation in all its functions.
