How to Replace the Key Battery of a Nissan Leaf

Model: Nissan Leaf ZE0, MK 1 - Years 2010-2017

Start by pressing the button on the back of the key of your Nissan Leaf to release the emergency key and remove it. Next, insert the tip of a small flathead screwdriver into the side slot of the key and lever it open. This will split the electronic key in two, exposing the exhausted battery. To remove it, simply pull it out of its housing, using the screwdriver if needed, and you will have completed the disassembly. To fit the new battery and close the key, just reverse this procedure, and you will have finished the replacement.
