Nissan Micra - Video tutorial

Model: Nissan Micra K11 - Years 1992-2002
Part: Arm
Operation: Drive shaft boot replacement instructions

Before lifting the car, it is advisable to remove the safety split pin from the central axle shaft nut and to loosen the nut itself as well as the wheel fixing pins. At this point, lift the car and proceed with the disassembly of the pins that secure the shock absorber to the hub support; then extract the hub from the drive shaft. Remove the boot clamps, move it backwards and extract the CV joint from the shaft (it is fixed by forcing with a snap ring). Insert the new boot on the axis; apply grease to the inside of the joint and fit it onto the shaft itself; then position the cap and secure it with the clamps (better if you use the metal ones rather than the plastic ones). Then reassemble the drive shaft in the hub and the hub itself (apply a new split pin).

We start by inserting the key but leaving it in the initial position, after which we keep the accelerator pedal fully depressed and at the same time turn on the instrument panel. At this point, always keeping the accelerator pressed, press the brake pedal 5 consecutive times and, with the pedals in position, turn off the ignition. We check that the procedure has been successful by starting the vehicle.
