Here's how to activate the cruise control on a Nissan Qashqai: turn on the cruise control switch to "on", then, using only the right side of the steering wheel, press the "set-" button, followed by the "res+" button also on the right side of the steering wheel, and the cruise control indicator will light up on the instrument cluster display.

If the brake pedal is pressed while the cruise control is active, or if the "cancel" button on the right side of the steering wheel is pressed, the cruise control will deactivate automatically and the indicator on the instrument cluster will turn off.
