To change the engine oil in a Nissan Altima, lift the car to gain easier access to the components in the lower part of the engine compartment. Here, you will find the oil drain plug, which needs to be unscrewed; this will allow you to collect the used oil in a properly positioned container. Once all the oil has drained out, close the drain plug and proceed to refill from the top of the engine compartment: the oil cap is located right at the top of the engine block.
