How to Remove and Replace the Timing Belt on Opel Astra

How to remove and replace the timing belt on an Opel Astra: lift the car on a column lift (if necessary, remove the front right wheel and use a screwdriver to remove the clips of the splash guard). Remove the plastic cover of the tensioner, and using a spanner, loosen the tensioner pulley and slide the belt off its seat. Using a socket wrench, unscrew the tightening bolt of the tensioner pulley, and remove the water pump as shown in the video. Fit the new water pump, the tensioner, and the belt itself, tightening everything with the socket wrench. Finally, refit the rivets with the splash guard and reattach the wheel with the tyre to the vehicle.
