How to remove the ignition switch on an Opel Astra? In this video, see how to proceed: before removing the ignition switch, disconnect the battery power cables. Use a socket spanner or screwdriver to unscrew the screws securing the side and lower trim of the steering wheel (the plastics), then remove the screws present using a screwdriver. Once the plastics are removed, unscrew the securing bolt of the ignition switch. After extracting the lock, replace it with a new one. Reverse the steps for reassembly.
