The gear selector of the Opel Grandland X with automatic transmission is truly minimalist. It has no gear lever or buttons, but a monostable rocker switch: a single selector that is pushed upwards (with two fingers from below) or downwards (by pressing with the thumb).

In the adjacent row, there are integrated coloured LEDs. P and R are yellow/orange; N and D are green, and there is a separate button for M, also in green. Yellow/orange indicates parking/reverse gears, while green indicates driving gears (including N, which theoretically moves at very low speed).
