Replacement of the Timing Chain

Replacing the timing chain is a delicate operation, advisable only for experienced individuals. Obtain the replacement chain, the tensioner wheels, the tensioners, the belt mounting diagram, and the special tools. Begin by removing components that obstruct the work, such as the pipe and air box, then remove the engine cover. Using a spanner and the appropriate tool, lock the pulley and reduce the tension on the chain tensioner. Levering on the tensioner, loosen the tension to remove the chain. Remove the bolts from the two tensioner supports and take them out. Replace the pulleys and tensioners with new parts, ensuring all components are reassembled correctly. Fit the tensioners and new belts following the assembly diagram. Refit the engine cover and other removed components.
