Removing the Key from an Opel Astra

Do you want to change the battery in the key of an Opel Astra? Here’s how to replace the battery inside the key. Take the key and remove the metal key blade (pull the plastic attached to the key blade), then use a screwdriver to pry between the two parts of the plastic key cover. Extract the flat battery, take a new one of the same size and voltage. Refit the plastic parts of the key by pressing on the cover until you hear it click into place. Check the correct operation of the remote key. Reattach the key blade to the side of the remote key.
