How to Replace the Ignition Switch on an Opel Meriva?

If the ignition switch on an Opel Meriva, produced from 2003 to 2010, breaks, it will need to be replaced. Here’s how to do it: first, remove the plastics surrounding the steering column using a Torx screwdriver. Then, to remove the switch, press the lever located at the top, at its base, while simultaneously pulling it outwards. Simply insert the new ignition switch in the same position and finally reassemble the plastics. Remember that to start the car, you need the code issued by the remote control and coded by the ECU located on the opposite side of the steering column from the ignition switch; thus, the new key should be inserted while keeping the remote control nearby. However, it is important not to discard the old key as it can be used for the external locks of the vehicle.
