Let’s see how to replace the alternator on an Opel Meriva. The first step is to lift the front bonnet and secure it with the support rod. Disconnect the battery terminals before removing the alternator. Locate the alternator and undo the bolts using a socket spanner; remove all the securing bolts of the alternator. Once the disassembly is complete, pull it out of the engine bay (detach the belt). Take the new replacement part and fit it into the appropriate housing, tighten the securing bolts, then reconnect the belt. Check with a tester if the alternator is charging the battery.
