This tutorial shows how to replace the glow plugs in an Opel Astra 1.7 CDTI. It is a simple operation but requires proper precautions. First, remove the plastic engine cover and disconnect the glow plug power cables using a long-nosed pliers. Then, unscrew the glow plugs using a long 9mm socket, being careful not to apply too much force. Once the replacement glow plug is inserted, begin to tighten it gently. It is highly recommended to use a torque wrench set to 17Nm for this operation. Finally, reconnect the power cables and refit the engine cover.
