How to replace the glow plugs on an Opel Astra Cdti? Let's see the disassembly. Lift the bonnet to access the engine bay, and remove the soundproofing panel to reach the glow plugs. Remove the bar connecting the glow plugs: grip the bar with your hands and unlock it until it comes free from the cylinder head. Unscrew the glow plugs using a socket wrench. Take the new glow plug and insert it into the cylinder head with the socket wrench. Finally, refit the plastic cylinder head cover panel. Start the engine for a brief operational test.
