The replacement of the timing chain on fiat-derived 1.3 MultiJet engines is necessary either after a long mileage or because, even after not many kilometers, it tends to become noisy. This defect is also partly caused by the regeneration of the FAP which, due to the unburned diesel, alters the viscosity of the oil, thus also compromising the lubrication of the timing chain. It should be noted that in order to be able to disassemble it, it is necessary to have the appropriate timing templates. Then proceed with the removal of the engine cover, the disassembly of the air filter container, the engine support, the crankshaft pulley, the chain guard and the oil sump. Then apply the templates for maintaining in phase and proceed with the replacement of the chain: the kit includes, in addition to the new chain, the tensioner, the sliding guides, the toothed pulley and the crankcase gasket.
