How to Replace the Engine Mount on an Opel Astra G

Let's see how to replace the engine mount on an Opel Astra G: the fundamental principle is that you need to lift and support the engine securely to relieve the weight from the mount to be replaced. Remove the air filter box, the intake pipe, and any obstructions; protect the engine with a cloth to prevent dirt from falling inside. Lift and support the car using safety jack stands: never work under a car supported only by a jack. Remove the engine cover and the oil sump cover to gain access. From above, place a jack or a suitable support under the oil sump, lifting it until the weight is relieved from the mount (this is the most difficult step). Unscrew the 6 bolts that secure the mount to the frame and the engine block. Secure the mount bracket and unscrew the mount with a Torx T55 key; clean the mounting seat and fit the new mount, tightening the bolts to 55 Nm. Reassemble all underbody protections, the air box, and all disassembled components in reverse order. This is also an opportunity to check for worn components and replace them.
