When skimming the cylinder head, it is always advisable to check its flatness using a straight edge and a feeler gauge; the same check should be performed on the cylinder block to rule out any warping due to excessive overheating that could compromise the gasket's adherence and sealing. Once the check is complete and positive, clean the threads of the cylinder head fixing holes on the block, taking care to remove any debris, and complete the installation of the gasket and cylinder head following a cross-tightening pattern using a torque wrench.
