Cylinder Head Resurfacing and Engine Gasket Kit Replacement

When replacing the cylinder head gasket, you must practically disassemble the entire upper part of the engine, and during reassembly, it is absolutely essential to replace all the gaskets: a gasket kit is available commercially that includes all the gaskets for the cylinder head assembly, valve oil seals, and generally also the valve cover gasket. Before proceeding with the installation of the cylinder head, check the flatness of the freshly machined surface (use a straight edge and a feeler gauge: max allowable tolerance 0.05 mm) and replace the valve guide oil seals. Start by applying the various fittings, flanges, and manifolds, inserting the new gaskets; if you re-tap the threads of the fixing holes of the head on the cylinder block, ensure that no debris falls into the cylinders; apply the new cylinder head gasket and then the cylinder head itself, tightening appropriately. In this case, the camshaft is also replaced along with the respective oil seals and the timing belt.
