Replacing Cylinder Head Fastening Bolts

Before fitting the cylinder head and new fastening bolts, use a thread gauge to check the thread pitch and select the correct tap to re-thread the fastening holes: take great care during this operation to avoid debris entering the cylinders. Once this is complete, position the new cylinder head gasket, then fit the cylinder head using the new bolt kit, to which sealing paste should be applied under the head and on the thread base.

Tighten the bolts in a cross pattern using both a torque wrench and an angle gauge.
