- Years 1998-2006 In this video, the crankshaft sensor of an Opel Astra is being replaced. The operation must be performed by disconnecting the negative battery terminal using a 10mm pocket wrench. Get a new sensor like the one shown in the video. The car must be lifted and secured on a jack; unscrew the first terminal of the sensor with a 14mm pocket wrench, and then unscrew the other end with an 18mm pocket wrench. Remove the old sensor and compare it with the new one. Proceed to install it in the same position using the same pockets and bolts as the recently removed old sensor.
