Instructions for Removing the Steering Wheel

Model: Vauxhall Astra Astra G - Years 1998-2006

To remove the steering wheel, first remove the airbag: it is advisable to disconnect the battery to avoid triggering warning lights; once the airbag is removed, position the steering wheel centrally, unscrew the central mounting bolt, and give it a few taps to release the coupling with the splines of the steering column shaft; once the steering wheel is freed, disconnect the horn and steering control cables and pull it upwards from its seat: it may be useful to mark a reference for centring with a marker.
