Lubrication of the Ignition Key Barrel

If the ignition key rotates with difficulty, a first solution is to lubricate the lock and the mechanism of the steering lock barrel. To perform this lubrication optimally, it is advisable to remove the upper shell covering the controls of the indicator stalk: unscrew the fixing screws of the two shells (two are located at the front behind the steering wheel which must be turned 90 degrees after removing the protective caps); once the screws are removed, detach the upper shell and spray lubricant (WD40 is perfect) both inside the lock and in the small hole above the steering lock support. If the problem persists after lubrication, it may be due to wear of the internal mechanism.

To check the oil level on a Jeep Renegade, you need to open the bonnet to access the components inside the engine bay: on the lower left side of the engine block, you will find the dipstick for checking the level. This should be pulled out and thoroughly cleaned with a cloth: once cleaned, reinsert it back into its tube and pull it out immediately after. This way, you can check that the oil mark is between the minimum and maximum levels; finally, you can place the dipstick back in its tube.
