How to Disconnect the Steering Wheel from the Steering Column on Opel Astra

Model: Vauxhall Astra Astra H - Years 2004-2010

Detailed instructions - To remove the steering wheel from the car, pay attention to the two holes located behind the steering wheel. These holes allow you to press the locking spring of the front cover of the steering wheel, enabling you to detach it from the column. With the engine and ignition off (preferably with the battery disconnected), insert a screwdriver into the holes on either side and at the back of the steering wheel. Push the screwdriver to release the clips of the front plastic cover of the steering wheel. Once the cover is lifted, unscrew the nut in the centre that holds the steering wheel in position. Disconnect both the horn and airbag connectors, then lift the steering wheel, wiggling it side to side.
