How to Replace the Cabin Filter on an Opel Astra J

To change the cabin filter in your Opel Astra, access it through the glove compartment in the cabin. Start by unscrewing the 4 screws that hold it in place. On the side of the drawer, there is an airbag housing. This needs to be removed, but first, turn the key to OFF! To remove it, lever it out and then take it off, as it is fitted under pressure, but be careful with the seal! Under the passenger airbag, there is another screw for the glove compartment. Unscrew this and now it can be removed. With the drawer out, you will see the filter. On the side, there are levers; push them and the filter drawer will open. Ensure that the arrows on the new part always point downwards. Remove any dirt that is likely there and after taking out the worn part, replace it with the new one. Close its cover. Refit the glove compartment, starting with the screw under the passenger airbag, and then the passenger airbag itself. The job is done.
