How to change the engine oil on an Opel Astra H

First, warm up the engine by driving a few miles and letting it idle for about 10 minutes. Secure the vehicle, lift it with a hydraulic jack, and place safety stands. Wear a pair of gloves to protect your hands. Now, unscrew the drain plug located under the engine using a T45 and a ratchet. Once the drain plug is removed, allow all the oil to drain into an oil catch pan (be careful as the oil is hot). While the oil continues to drain, remove the cap from the oil filter cartridge using a 32 mm socket and an extension with a half-inch drive ratchet. Once the filter is removed, add a small amount of new oil to the cartridge to help the old oil flow into the sump. Replace the oil filter with new seals, screw the drain plug back under the engine, and top up the oil (5.3 litres). Regardless of ceramic treatment, it is recommended to add 4.5 litres, start the engine; once the oil circulates, turn off the engine, wait 10-15 minutes, and check the oil level (when cold, it should be slightly below the maximum).
