How to change the gear knob of a Peugeot 408

In this video, we see how to replace the gear knob on a Peugeot 408: it can be found, for example, on E-bay with the code 284301859798 at a price of 17.99 euros with free delivery. Make sure the gear lever is in neutral position and the parking brake is engaged, grab the knob and pull it upwards: it is held in place only by a plastic clip. Once the knob is removed, we will see the metal body of the knob: at its base there will be a plastic seal (meaning a safety strap). Cut it and pull the leather cover downwards. Place the new knob, making sure it is aligned correctly. Press the new knob towards the nose until you hear a clear "click", reposition the cover upwards to cover the base of the knob, and secure it with a small black strap. Put everything back in place, and you're done.
