Front Shock Absorber Replacement

Model: Peugeot 407 MK 1 - Years 2004-2012

Lift the vehicle and remove the wheel; then unscrew the fastening nut of the driveshaft at the hub, first removing the split pin and the safety cap. Remove the fixing bolt of the stabiliser bar, the ball joint of the suspension arm, and the link, then the fixing bolts of the shock absorber mount. Using a suitable puller, detach the driveshaft from the hub, freeing the shock absorber from the suspension mount. At this point, open the bonnet and proceed to remove the wiper blades, the plastic cover under the windscreen, and the plastic cap protecting the upper shock absorber mount; then unscrew the fixing nuts of the mount and extract the shock absorber: at this point, you will need a specific tool to detach the spring from the damper; then fit the new mount with the rubber bellows and reposition the spring onto the new damper. Finally, complete the installation on the vehicle.
