Replacing the Front Suspension Shock Absorber

Model: Peugeot 407 MK 1 - Years 2004-2012

You will need a 13mm socket wrench for this operation. Remove the wheel and unscrew the nut on the wheel hub. Securely tie the entire suspension arm assembly to prevent it from falling during the operation. Unscrew and remove the retaining pins of the arm from the suspension. Also disconnect the steering tie rod. Using a spanner and a ratchet, remove all the suspension bolts. With a 30 Torx key, unscrew the retaining screws of the brake assembly. Remove the brake electrical cables and use a puller to take the entire brake assembly off the hub. Unscrew the nut on top of the cover and completely remove it for easier access. Unscrew the three retaining bolts of the suspension and pull it down completely. Use the appropriate equipment to compress the spring to allow the worn shock absorber to be removed and replaced with a new one. Also replace the spring and rubber boot. Refit the suspension onto the vehicle in reverse order.
