Replacing the remote key battery on a Peugeot 407 is a very simple task that can be done independently in just a few minutes. To replace the battery, first open the remote.

Insert a flathead screwdriver into the bottom to pry it open. Once opened, remove the metal key by releasing the catch and then taking out the key. Lift the microchip and then remove and insert the new battery.

Reinsert the metal key and secure it with the catch. Finally, close the remote and test the key's functionality.
