How to Reset the Key of a Peugeot or Citroen Vehicle

Let's see how to reprogram the remote of a Peugeot 207 or 407 or a Citroen (the system is similar, as they share the same technological platform). This procedure is useful if the central locking no longer works (which can happen after changing the remote battery). Insert the remote into the ignition barrel and turn the key to the "ON" position (turn on the instrument cluster). Return to the "OFF" position and remove the key from the barrel. Now press and hold the "lock" button on the remote; while holding this button, quickly and repeatedly press the "unlock" button for about 10 seconds. Release both buttons. Now the procedure is complete; check if both buttons are now functioning correctly. For models without a physical key, the procedure is more complex and requires the use of professional diagnostic equipment. It is advisable to use the second remote and take the first one for repair.
