How to Replace the Battery in a Peugeot 207 1.4 HDI

To change the battery in your Peugeot 207 1.4, open the bonnet: the battery is on the right side of the engine. Remove the cover on the battery. Always disconnect the negative terminal first, then the positive. Remove the negative cable and move it aside, then completely remove the positive one. Now you can detach the battery tray. Lift the battery cover and remove the earth terminal. Open the plastic tabs on the ECU box and remove it, placing the ECU aside without twisting the cables. Using a socket wrench, unscrew the bolt - be careful not to drop it - now you can take the battery out of its holder. Clean the terminals with fine sandpaper to remove any oxidation. Apply copper grease to the terminals of the new battery to improve contact. Position the new battery and place the support plate using a piece of absorbent paper, as shown in the video, to prevent it from slipping down. This way, you ensure you don't lose the bolt. Now remove the absorbent paper. Refit the ECU and replace its cover. Reattach the earth terminal. Now you can replace the battery cover. Refit the plastic battery tray and connect the terminals: first the positive, then the negative, and tighten them well. Job done.
