How to Replace the Timing Belt on a Peugeot 5008 2.0 HDI?

In this video, see how to change the timing belt on the engine bench of a Peugeot 5008 2.0 HDI: the replacement interval is set for 10 years or 150,000 miles. Before removing the belt cover, you must remove the protection cover, the upper right reaction arm, the right front wheel, and the right wheel arch lining. Then, remove the auxiliary belt along with the belt protection and its covering. Now, remove the crankshaft sensor and the sensor gear to access the lower part of the belt. Insert a tool to lock the flywheel to loosen the crankshaft pulley bolt, which varies depending on whether the vehicle is manual or automatic. Finally, insert a pin into the camshaft gear; loosen the bolt by hand, or it will break; in any case, replace it with a new one. Now, loosen the tensioner pulley nut and remove the belt itself. For reassembly, remember that the safety pin must not be removed until the belt is in position; the tensioner pulley must align with the pin on the engine to lock it. There is a small tool to insert at the bottom of the crankshaft, before the belt, which will lock the lower oval gear of the crankshaft in the central position, preventing misalignment of the engine which could negatively affect the belt or its tension. Insert the belt starting from the camshaft gear, using a zip tie, then position the belt clockwise. After fitting the belt, remove the safety pin and set the safety pin to maximum. Rotate the eccentric counter-clockwise by about 90°, until it is in the 3 o'clock position. You can now remove the crankshaft lock and the camshaft gear lock. The pulley bolt should be tightened to 50 Nm and turned 4 turns in the direction of engine rotation. Adjust the TDC of the first cylinder and the tension of the tensioner pulley. Set the timing and remove the crankshaft pulley again, adjusting the tensioner pulley to its final position, loosening the nut and slowly rotating the eccentric clockwise until the indicator is in the centre of the window, and not beyond. Remember to tighten the new bolt to 70 Nm and 60°.
