In this video, you will learn how to fit lowered sports springs on a Peugeot 208: first, remove the wheels and start disassembling the shock absorber by disconnecting it from other suspension components, such as the strut and the stabiliser link. Completely remove the shock absorber from its housing to take out the standard spring.

At the back, the spring is separated from the shock absorber, making the job easier. In our Peugeot, there is a rubber pad at the bottom of the spring, but this is not always present.

Sports springs can generate a lot of noise, so it is advisable to cover the last coil with rubber tubing. To secure the top cap, never use a power tool, but a simple spanner.

The result achieved is greater stiffness compared to the original springs. The shock absorber remains the original one, at standard height; only the spring has lowered the vehicle by about 40 mm. Greater lowering requires changing the shock absorber stem to a shorter one.
