This article explains how to replace the gear knob on the Peugeot 208, which can become damaged over time. The only tool needed is a pair of scissors.

First, detach the gear cover and lift it off, then pull the gear knob with the cover upwards to remove it. Once removed, use the scissors to cut the retaining clip; after removing the clip, take off the gear knob, replace it with the new one, insert a new retaining clip, and refit the knob and cover into the designated housing, applying pressure to ensure the cover attaches to the fixing clips.
