How to Open the Hood of a Porsche Boxster When the Battery is Dead
Model: Porsche Boxster
MK 1, 986
- Years 1996-2004
If the battery dies on this car model, the first challenge is opening the front hood where the battery is located, as the lock is electrically controlled via the button on the door sill of the driver’s side. First, use the mechanical key to open the driver’s door, then locate the plastic cover inside the cabin on the bulge of the wheel well. Once you remove the cover, you can access a jump point to connect the positive terminal of a booster, then connect the negative to the body. After powering the vehicle, open the front hood to access the battery, which is centrally located just below the windshield.

How to Remove the Front Brake Pads on a Chrysler PT Cruiser
To remove the front brake pads on a Chrysler PT Cruiser, position the car on a column lift and raise it to a comfortable height. Unscrew the pins using a socket wrench or air drill and remove the wheel. Then, use a screwdriver to detach the brake pads. Next, remove the caliper bracket and unscrew the pins on the brake disc (using a Torx screwdriver). Pull the disc towards you to slide it off the hub. Install the new brake disc with all associated pins, secure the caliper bracket to the disc and the pads, then mount the brake caliper, ensuring all pins are tightened properly. Before mounting the wheel, bleed the brake caliper and tighten the pin. by ScegliAuto More videos
