Porsche 911 - Video tutorial

Model: Porsche 911 996 - Years 1997-2005
Part: Rear bumper
Operation: How to disassemble the rear bumper of a Porsche 996

We'll start by jacking up the car and taking off the rear wheels. To disassemble the rear bumper of a Porsche 996, you have to start with the small screws that are hidden in the license plate holder, under a cap. Once the protection is removed, it reveals another screw, which must be disassembled. Of course there are the license plate lights here, so you have to proceed carefully not to damage the wires. Now let's remove the four screws that hold the bumper in the upper part: now let's see where the lower ones are by entering from the side of the mudguard where we can see one, two exactly under the bumper always on the side of the mudguard, another two under the bumper - let's say under the license plate - and three more on the side of the opposite fender. When unscrewing the screws on the upper side, pay attention to the cover that finishes the luggage rack. You will also have to remove the optical groups, in order not to damage them: there are only four screws and you will avoid worse troubles. Now you can reposition the new bumper, remembering to fix it, to put the light clusters in position before proceeding with the fixing of the bumper.

Handbrake adjustment on Ford Ecosport

First remove the plastic profile at the base of the gear lever. To do this, slightly widen the side edges and carefully lift it to release it. There is no need to remove it completely, just move it forward to avoid bother. Now remove the plastic center console around the handbrake by first working from the rear to release it and lifting it until the brake lever passes. Also in this case it is not necessary to remove it completely but, paying attention to the connected cables, it can be stowed in front of the passenger seat. At this point we notice that at the base of the handbrake lever, on the front, we find a nut. By acting on it, with a 10 wrench, we can adjust the brake force, increasing it by turning the nut clockwise, or decreasing it by turning it counterclockwise. Once adjusted, the center console can be repositioned first, pressing lightly to engage it, and then the profile of the gearbox base.
