How to replace the cigarette lighter in a Dodge Ram 1500

Replacing the cigarette lighter in a Dodge Ram 1500 vehicle is a relatively simple operation. Turn off the vehicle and for safety disconnect the negative terminal of the battery. Get into the car and locate the cigarette lighter, which is located in the central panel inside the cabin; remove the surrounding panel. At this point, disconnect the electrical connector that powers the cigarette lighter and remove the unit in question. Insert the new component into the appropriate slot, make sure it is securely fastened and then reconnect the electrical connector. Finally, reassemble the central panel previously removed.
