How to Change the Engine Oil in a Ram 1500

To change the engine oil in a Ram 1500, loosen the bolt that secures the drain plug located at the bottom of the vehicle in the engine compartment. Collect all the oil that drains out in a properly positioned container. Once all the liquid has drained, close the drain plug by accessing the engine compartment and add new oil through the designated fill hole. After adding all the necessary oil, close the fill hole with the cap and lower the hood.
