How the Renault Twingo recovers kinetic energy through the B-type gearbox

In this video we can see how the Renault Twingo is able to recover kinetic energy: the vehicle is equipped with an automatic gearbox with regenerative braking, so it is possible to brake simply by lifting the foot off the accelerator; in fact, when decelerating, the electric motor applies resistance to the wheels, slowing down the vehicle and generating electricity to recharge the traction battery. When the gear lever is in the "B" position, we are driving with regenerative braking, and we can also see it on the instrument panel. This mode allows you to choose the braking force on three levels: B2 is the default selected position; for more effective regenerative braking, push the lever forward to position B3, while for a less energetic braking, push the lever back to position B1. With the lever in the B position, lifting the pedal off the brake causes the car to start moving forward, and with a little practice we can understand that we can drive just by pressing the accelerator; a perfect driving style for urban traffic.
