- Years 2005-2013 How to remove the steering wheel of a Renault Clio with its light switch? Before disassembling the car steering wheel, we disconnect the cables from the battery power supply. Unscrew with a screwdriver and screws placed around the steering wheel cover, then, remove the airbag by unscrewing the screws on the back of the steering wheel. Once the airbag has been removed, disconnect the power cables and remove the central anchoring pin of the steering wheel, disconnect the power supply terminals. We remove the steering wheel with our hands after having marked the tightening position with a marker (facilitates reassembly). We remove the light switch from the steering rod. To reassemble everything, let's proceed backwards.
